Vials & Test-Tubes

Predominantly used in the pharmaceutical industry and associated laboratory testing and clinical trial work, vials and test-tubes are usually made of glass. They are best handled in a roller conveyor, either standing vertically or laying down horizontal. Labelling accuracy is vital, so as not to obscure other features such as fill-level or dosage graduations. Product may require pre-orientation to apply in registration.

Depending on stability of product, can be labelled in-line on a conveyor, using a vertically-mounted roller conveyor, with a synchronised star-wheel in-feed to pitch the product. Alternatively, a horizontally-mounted roller conveyor can allow for either continuous motion or an indexing movement for pre-orientating the product.

For low volumes, a semi-automatic multi-roller unit (MRU) may be all that is required.
