The Print & Apply labelling machines from ALS offer high speed, ease of integration and excellent print quality on a range of different label material types from paper to synthetic.
ALX 720 Batch Print & Apply labellers feature the thermal transfer print engine located away from the dispense edge so that the two tasks can work independently. Labels are printed into a dancer-arm controlled loop, giving opportunities for high-speed direct wipe-on application which is not limited by the speed of the printing.
At 300mm per second, the ALX 720 has a fast print speed but at 30 metres per minute, has an even faster dispensing speed. This is achieved by printing using the time between applications. The ALX 720 also has the unique ability to accurately speed-match the variable speed of the product conveyor or a moving web/film in real-time, a function called Automatic Product Speed Following (APSF). Typical batch applications include bakeries and other fresh food labelling, outer case labelling, price and promotional labelling and many more.

ALX 920 On-Demand Print & Apply labellers, also called 1-to-1 labellers, apply the label that has just been printed. The print engine and print head are right at the dispensing edge. These machines are used for applications where label data is constantly changing such as in distribution / logistics operations, pharmaceutical / clinical trials applications, pallet labelling or indeed anywhere where products arrive in a random or non-linear order or need time and date marking for tracking purposes.
The ALX 920 range can apply labels directly, without an applicator, by setting the print engine to print and dispense labels at the same speed as the product on a conveyor, up to 24 metres per minute, depending on label material. For faster requirements, a series of industrial applicator modules are available.
